The Environment Agency is seeking a Specialist in Chemical Hazard Evaluation to assess the environmental risks of chemicals under UK regulations. We are seeking a regulatory scientist to assess the environmental hazard and risk of industrial and consumer chemicals under UK REACH and CLP Regulations. Join our Chemicals Assessment Unit (CAU) to:
Responding to incidents is integral to this role, with training and potential additional payments provided. Flexibility for remote/hybrid working is available, with some travel expected.
Applicants should hold a relevant scientific degree (e.g., chemistry, biology, environmental science) and have at least two years' experience in environmental hazard or risk assessment of chemicals. Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills are essential. Please demonstrate relevant experience in your competency responses, particularly regarding environmental hazard and risk assessments under REACH and CLP.
