Job description
Overview

Specialist Cardiac Physiologist - Echocardiography (Full Time, Permanent). 2 posts available. Based at Croydon University Hospital and Purley War Memorial Hospital with rotational duties within the Cardiology team.

Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist echocardiography services as part of the Cardiology Imaging team, including adult and paediatric transthoracic echocardiography.
  • Perform advanced echocardiography procedures (stress echo including exercise and dobutamine, bubble studies, contrast echo) and assist with non-invasive and invasive investigations as required.
  • Support the Pacemaker/ICD/CRT implant and follow-up service; contribute to the broader non-invasive cardiac diagnostic service.
  • Work in collaboration with the Principal Clinical Cardiac Physiologist and Cardiology Imaging Consultant to deliver a timely, efficient, high quality, equitable and cost-effective service.
  • Provide cover for the non-invasive service as appropriate and based on service needs; undertake designated managerial, health and safety and educational responsibilities.
Qualifications
  • BSc Hons Clinical Physiological Science, HNC MPPM or equivalent.
  • Full accreditation in echocardiography (e.g., British Society of Echocardiography or equivalent) is essential.
Team and Environment

A busy department with a mix of Cardiologists, Cardiac Physiologists, Assistant Practitioners, Physiologist Helpers and a Clerical Support Team. Regularly performs adult and paediatric echocardiography and a range of non-invasive and invasive procedures.
