We currently have an opportunity to join East Suffolk Council's Building Control Team as a Specialist Building Inspector.
This is an exciting time to join East Suffolk Building Control, together the team have supported each other in becoming one of the most qualified teams in the region. The team have recently been appointed on a number of complex high value projects at Sizewell C, this historic build programme will last for many years.
The role
In this new role, you will lead all Building Control applications and consultations for high risk, high rise and complex projects, as well as managing and consulting on all complex building control technical matters, taking on the role as specialist amongst the team of building control professionals in delivering building control and enforcement functions. You will be an advocate for and influence the delivery of high quality design and regulatory compliance in East Suffolk and across the Building Control partnership, through the promotion of legislative guidance and in line with statutory responsibilities. You will lead both internal and external applications and also front early consultation with development management and with ongoing consultation with the fire and rescue service.
What you will need
You will be a full member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors or Association of Building Engineers, with considerable experience working in a building control area with evidence of a high level of performance. Level 6 Fire related training and qualifications is essential. You will need to be a good communicator, well organised, have excellent written, numerical and analytical skills and sound IT abilities.
