Our team is seeking a motivated individual with a keen interest in breast care to work within the screening and symptomatic service. We prefer candidates with experience in Surgical and Oncology Services. Our department offers a wide range of oncoplastic surgical techniques and collaborates closely with oncology and research teams.

Main duties of the job
  1. Provides a specialist, ongoing, supportive Breast Care Service within hospital and community settings, delivering optimal healthcare to patients, families, and carers.
  2. Manages and organises own caseload.
  3. Supports the lead Specialist Breast Care Nurse.
  4. Delivers specialist breast care education and training, communicates sensitive information, and maintains patient confidentiality.

Qualifications
  • First level registered nurse
  • Degree or equivalent in a health-related subject, or willingness to work towards
  • ENB A11 or equivalent specialist qualification, or willingness to obtain
  • Teaching qualification or mentorship course, or equivalent experience
  • Evidence of counselling skills, experience, or qualification
  • Oncology qualification, e.g., ENB237 cancer course or equivalent
  • Advanced communication skills
Experience
  • Significant post-registration experience in this clinical specialty
  • Experience in outpatient clinics in this specialty

  • Experience in clinical audit, research, and evaluation
