Job summary

We are currently seeking to recruit a Band 6 Multidisciplinary BMS. We are looking for enthusiastic, dedicated, hard-working individuals able to demonstrate a flexible approach to work. The posts are for 37.5 hours a week, and involve a full 24/7 rota after a period of suitable training. This post is based at St.Georges' Hospital however, the post holders may be required to work at any of the South West London Pathology sites as and when necessary.

Main duties of the job

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and motivated State Registered Biomedical Scientists to join a well-established team within the laboratory. The Haematology and Blood Transfusion section of this busy department, which has full UKAS Accreditation Biomedical scientists within the Haematology and Blood Transfusion section work on Coulter DxH 900 analysers, and ACL Top, Immucor BT. The Biochemistry section which has full UKAS Accreditation, comprises an automated routine section using Beckman AU 5800 and DxI 900 analysers. Automated haematology, coagulation, biochemistry and virology are linked by the Beckman DxA 5000 track. Biochemistry also has a manual (non-automated or semi-automated) section including mass spectrophotometers, osmometers etc.
