Job summary

A regional healthcare organization in Poole is seeking a Specialist Biomedical Scientist in Haematology & Blood Transfusion. The role requires HCPC registration and experience in routine haematology along with the ability to train junior staff. Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Train junior staff to work in accordance to SOPs.
  • Participate in CPD.
  • Provide an urgent patient-centred service.

Education

Qualifications

Essential criteria

  • Completed Accredited BSc in Biomedical Science
  • Registration with HCPC.
  • IBMS specialist portfolio or equivalent post graduate knowledge e.g. competency based evidence of specialist techniques
  • Desirable criteria

  • MSc in Biomedical Science or equivalent area of specialty
  • Experience

    Essential criteria

  • Demonstrable experience of working in routine haematology
  • Demonstrable experience of working in antenatal screening / haemoglobinopathies
  • Experience of working in a UKAS ISO 15189 and MHRA approved laboratory
  • Desirable criteria

  • Experience of working with Tosoh G11
