East Kent Hospitals NHS Trust seeks a HCPC registered Specialist Biomedical Scientist to join our Cellular Pathology team at William Harvey Hospital in Ashford. This full-time permanent role requires a BSc in biomedical sciences or equivalent and IBMS specialist portfolio in histopathology or non-gynae cytology.

A progression pathway to band 6 is available after 12 months with portfolio milestones. You will support throughput in histological dissection, embedding, microtomy, staining and IHC,

Qualifications

• HCPC registration in Biomedical Science required.
• BSc in Biomedical Sciences or equivalent.
• IBMS Specialist Portfolio in histopathology or non-gynae cytology completed or 50% complete.

Responsabilités

• Support histological dissection, non-gynae cytology prep, embedding and microtomy.
• Perform stains, immunohistochemistry and assist in UKNEQAS schemes.
• Contribute to quality audits and develop new procedures to improve services.
