Specialist Biomedical Scientist Blood Sciences (Ref: 217192)

Full Time – 37 hours per week plus on-call

Band 6 Salary Range £41,608 - £50,702 per annum

Plus Distant Islands Allowance of £2,380 per annum

and Relocation Assistance of up to £8000 available

We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated, experienced and qualified Biomedical Scientist to join our multi-disciplinary Laboratory team at the most northerly hospital in the UK as a specialist. You must have a minimum of 1-year experience working in a UK NHS Hospital.

You will be able to bring a dynamic and enthusiastic approach to the role, and will have proven knowledge and skills in Blood Transfusion Science, haematology or clinical biochemistry with multi-disciplinary experience or a willingness to undertake training in the other discipline where necessary. You will also be State Registered with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC).

The department is currently implementing a new Managed Service Contract and the successful candidate will be expected to support this. Once trained you will be required to participate in the multi-disciplinary on-call roster.

If you are a motivated team player with the relevant UK NHS experience, with ability to work autonomously and would like to work as a key member of a busy team, then we would love to hear from you.

To work in the United Kingdom, there is a legal requirement for an individual to demonstrate that they have the relevant permission to work in the country. This permission is, without exception, granted by the UK Visa and Immigrations Service.
