Job Overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic, HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist, with relevant post-registration experience to join the multidisciplinary team in Haematology, Blood Transfusion, and Biochemistry at The Princess Royal Hospital, Telford.
We aim to appoint a suitably qualified Biomedical Scientist to assist with the provision of a diagnostic service and support the delivery of a 24-hour service, 7 days a week, as part of a 37.5-hour working week, including evenings, nights, weekends, and bank/public holidays.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be expected to train in relevant disciplines and rotate through all sections of the department. You may be required to work at other sites as needed.
Working for your organisation
The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital (SaTH) Pathology Services are accredited to UKAS standards. The Biochemistry section is equipped with Roche Cobas 6000 analyzers and Roche pre-analytics and middleware. The Haematology section uses Sysmex XN and CS2500 analyzers. Automated Biorad equipment is used in the Blood Transfusion Department. The department is an approved IBMS/HCPC training laboratory, and continuous professional development is actively encouraged.
