Role Summary

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a competent and experienced state registered Biomedical Scientist to join our wonderful team of Scientists, based in Exeter Histology Department.

The post holder will be expected to assist in the day to day running of the department under the supervision of a senior BMS. Be competent and experienced in all relevant methodologies used in histological investigations and techniques. Apply up to date knowledge of histological techniques in undertaking testing of specimens and the interpretation of histology investigations.

Working Pattern:Mon-Friday 0830-1700

Interview Date: Week beginning 10.09.25

Candidates with recent experience in a histology laboratory and holding/ imminently expecting an IBMS accredited degree will be considered for a trainee BMS position Band 5 annex 21 with progression to Band 5 when training is complete.

Pay: The salary advertised for this position reflects the Agenda for Change 2025/6 rates, inclusive of a 3.6% pay award which will be implemented later this year. If you join before the implementation date, the pay award will be backdated to your start date. Until then, remuneration will be based on the 2024/5 pay bandings (Pay scales for 2024/25 | NHS Employers)
