Job description

As a Cargo Screener at Securitas, you are a key part of the Aviation security operation, and responsible for ensuring the safety of passengers, staff, and aircraft at London Heathrow Airport. At Securitas, you will use cutting edge detection technologies to conduct screening and security checks for various kinds of air freight shipments. Specific duties will include:

  • Operate X-ray machines, metal detectors, and other cutting edge detection technologies.
  • Adaptability to emerging AI Based technologies and tools.
  • Perform Physical-Manual inspection of cargo.
  • Respond promptly to incidents or emergencies.
  • Work collaboratively with airport departments and external agencies.
  • Maintain focus and awareness within a demanding environment.
  • Make effective decisions in line with established procedures.
  • Flexible to work various shift lengths dependent on the volume of cargo.
  • You will be required to attend a mandatory 2-3 week training course out of the country – valid passport permitting entrance/travel abroad. Location(s) disclosed during screening process.
  • Opportunities to progress through further training.
  • Requirement of 37.5 hours per week with an opportunity for overtime if available.
