Impact Student Partners is seeking Specialist Study Skills Tutors (ASC) to support autistic students at the University of Lancashire and remotely. You will tailor one-to-one strategies, focus on organisation, executive functioning, and study techniques, and work within DSA guidelines to help students maximise independence and academic success.
The role requires relevant qualification pathways, strong communication, and the ability to provide online and face-to-face support.
Impact Student Partners is a specialist Non-Medical Help (NMH) provider supporting students in Higher Education through Disabled Students' Allowance (DSA). We work in partnership with universities and colleges across the UK to provide high-quality support for students with mental health conditions, neurodivergence, specific learning differences, long term health conditions, and other disabilities.
Our mission is simple: to empower students to overcome barriers, build confidence, develop independence, and achieve their academic potential.
We believe exceptional support starts with truly understanding the individual. By taking the time to get to know each student's unique circumstances, strengths, challenges, goals, and preferences, we are able to provide genuinely personalised, one-to-one support that reflects their specific needs. This tailored approach helps students build sustainable strategies, develop confidence, and achieve meaningful progress throughout their university journey.
Specialist Study Skills Tutors (ASC) support autistic students in Higher Education to develop the skills, strategies, and confidence required to become successful and independent learners. We are looking for ASC Tutors who can provide on Campus, face to face support at the University of Lancashire and remotely.
Students with ASC can experience barriers relating to organisation, time management, executive functioning, attention, communication, sensory processing, adapting to change, managing workloads, and navigating the academic and social demands of university life. Through tailored, one-to-one support, you will help students identify these barriers and develop practical strategies to overcome them.
The purpose of the role is to provide highly specialised study skills support that enables students to maximise their strengths, develop independence, and achieve their academic goals. Support is always personalised to the individual student and may include areas such as planning and organisation, attention and concentration strategies, managing larger assignments, academic reading and writing techniques, memory strategies, revision techniques, problem-solving, and effective use of assistive technology.
Every student is different, and no two support plans are the same. A key part of the role involves building a strong professional relationship with students, understanding how their autism impacts their learning experience, and developing tailored approaches that support their individual learning preferences and goals.
Specialist Study Skills support is not subject-specific. However, students' course materials may be used as a framework through which learning strategies and study skills are developed.

By building meaningful professional relationships and providing tailored, one-to-one interventions, our Specialist Study Skills Tutors help students overcome barriers, develop effective learning strategies, increase confidence, and achieve lasting academic success.
