Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Specialist Analytics Solution Architect in the Global Financial Services group. You will design cloud-based data and analytics architectures for tier-one financial institutions across EMEA and APJ, acting as a trusted technical advisor on data strategy and analytics modernization.

In this role, you’ll build deep, strategic partnerships with customers, translate complex challenges into scalable cloud solutions, and contribute to reference architectures and reusable assets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or equivalent, or experience in a professional field or military
• Experience in IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries
• Experience within technology domains (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics)
• Experience in design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures
• Experience communicating across technical and non-technical audiences, including executive level stakeholders or clients

Responsibilities

• Serve as the trusted technical advisor for analytics and data strategy across Global Financial Services accounts in EMEA and APJ
• Design cloud-based data and analytics architectures tailored to tier-one financial institutions
• Collaborate with sales teams, account managers, and specialist SA communities to shape long-term technical strategies
• Engage at senior technical and executive levels, translating complex concepts into business-aligned recommendations
• Develop reference architectures, best practice guidance, and reusable assets for global financial services
• Create thought leadership content (whitepapers, blog posts, presentations, workshops) on analytics, data management, and cloud modernisation
• Partner with global specialist SA peers and service teams to influence roadmap priorities
• Stay current on data analytics, AI/ML trends and feed insights back into engagements

Shape the future of data and analytics for the world's largest and most complex financial institutions. As a Specialist Analytics Solution Architect within our Global Financial Services (GFS) organisation, you'll work with a focused portfolio of strategic accounts across EMEA and APJ — designing transformative cloud-based architectures that address the unique scale, regulatory, and operational demands of tier-one financial services customers.

This is not a high-volume role. You'll go deep, not wide — building lasting technical relationships with a small number of the most significant financial services organisations in the world. You'll act as a strategic technical partner, helping these customers reimagine their data infrastructure, modernise analytics platforms, and unlock business value from data at enterprise scale.

You'll combine deep expertise in data and analytics with an understanding of the financial services landscape to translate complex challenges into elegant, scalable cloud solutions — navigating regulatory requirements, legacy environments, and multi-regional complexity along the way.

Key job responsibilities

• Serve as the trusted technical advisor for analytics and data strategy across a small number of the largest, most complex Global Financial Services accounts in EMEA and APJ
• Design comprehensive cloud-based data and analytics architectures tailored to the unique requirements of tier-one financial institutions — including regulatory compliance, data sovereignty, and operational resilience
• Collaborate closely with account-aligned sales teams, account managers, and broader specialist SA communities to shape and execute long-term technical strategies
• Engage at senior technical and executive levels within customer organisations, translating complex technical concepts into business-aligned recommendations
• Develop reference architectures, best practice guidance, and reusable assets that address common patterns and challenges within global financial services
• Create thought leadership content — including whitepapers, blog posts, presentations, and workshops — that demonstrates expertise in analytics, data management, and cloud modernisation for financial services
• Partner with global specialist SA peers, service teams, and product groups to influence roadmap priorities based on customer needs
• Stay current on emerging trends in data analytics, AI/ML, and financial services technology, and feed insights back into customer engagements and internal communities

Basic Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with AWS technologies like Redshift, S3, AWS Glue, EMR, Kinesis, FireHose, Lambda, and IAM roles and permissions
• Experience with one or more analytics visualization tools (e.g., Excel, Tableau, QuickSight, MicroStrategy, PowerBI)
• Experience implementing cloud-based data and analytics solutions in production environments
• Knowledge of modern data architecture patterns such as data mesh, data lakehouse, or event-driven analytics
• Familiarity with common financial services data platforms and vendors (e.g. KDB+, Bloomberg, Snowflake, Databricks) and how they integrate with cloud-native services
