AWS is seeking an experienced Solutions Architect to join our Financial Services team in the UK, focusing on Capital Markets customers. You will act as a trusted technical advisor, owning the technical relationship with customers and guiding them on security, cost, performance, and reliability using AWS technologies.

You will collaborate across sales, professional services, and product teams to design scalable, secure solutions, lead architecture discussions and workshops, and help customers

Qualifications

  • Experience in design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures.
  • Experience within specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics).
  • Experience migrating or transforming legacy customer solutions to the cloud is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Own the technical relationship with the customer and operate as their trusted advisor.
  • Lead architectural discussions, reviews and workshops across trading, risk, post-trade and market data domains.
  • Design scalable and secure solutions leveraging AWS services and emerging technologies (AI/ML, HPC).

Description

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking an experienced Solutions Architect to join our Financial Services team, focusing on Capital Markets customers in the UK. As a trusted technical advisor, you will help leading financial institutions innovate and transform their business using AWS technologies.

Solutions Architects work hand in hand with AWS customers to help them make the most of the Cloud. They own the overall technical relationship between customers and AWS and make recommendations on security, cost, performance, reliability and operational efficiency. They work to understand the customer's business needs and give prescriptive guidance on how to create business value with technology. To do this they collaborate with other teams such as account management, professional services, support, product teams and the AWS partner ecosystem.

In this role you will get to practice your creativity, linking technology to tangible solutions and educating AWS customers about the art of the possible within a diverse and evolving market. You will work closely with an Account Executive to help customers achieve their outcomes using AWS technology.

The Solutions Architecture team is a diverse group of technologists from a variety of backgrounds. Practical knowledge of the AWS platform is desired but not required, provided you have a sound technical foundation and a desire to learn.

Key job responsibilities

Basic Qualifications
  • Experience within specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics).
  • Experience in design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures
  • Experience in IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working within software development or Internet-related industries
  • Experience migrating or transforming legacy customer solutions to the cloud
  • Experience working with AWS technologies from a dev/ops perspective
