Special Situations M&A Manager – London

Sector: M&A / Distressed / Restructuring / Strategic Advisory

Level: Manager

Are you the type who runs toward the fire rather than away from it? Good. Because we’re looking for a sharp, commercially-savvy M&A Manager with a nose for opportunity and a cool head in crisis to join our Special Situations team.

This is not your standard M&A role. You’ll be operating in the grey—where deals are fast-moving, distressed, unconventional, and require razor-sharp judgement. Think carve-outs, turnarounds, debt workouts, underperforming assets, and strategic plays that others might miss.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Leading deal execution across special situations transactions: distressed M&A, restructurings, complex corporate carve-outs, and opportunistic acquisitions
  • Managing workstreams and junior teams with both structure and swagger
  • Working directly with partners, C-suite execs, and investors on strategy, valuation, negotiation, and execution
  • Navigating uncertainty, ambiguity, and asymmetric information like a pro
  • Thinking two steps ahead of the market—and one ahead of the competition

What You Bring:

  • Solid M&A / restructuring experience from an investment bank, Big 4 deal advisory, or a PE/credit fund
  • A sharp mind, steady hand, and strong commercial instincts
  • You’re calm under pressure and thrive in high-impact, time-sensitive environments
  • Strong modelling skills (we won’t test you—but you’ll want to impress anyway)
  • A natural leader—someone who can run the room, not just the spreadsheet
  • The chance to shape high-stakes deals that make headlines
  • Access to complex, intellectually rich transactions that stretch beyond vanilla M&A
  • A bold, collaborative team that likes to win (and knows how to have fun doing it)
  • Clear path to progression and exposure to top-tier clients and decision-makers
Seniority level
  • Mid-Senior level
