Job summary

Ysgol Penmaes in Brecon is seeking a Teaching Assistant Level 3 to support pupils aged 3-19 with severe, profound, and complex learning needs in a special school setting. The role includes health/hygiene support and hydrotherapy assistance under the guidance of the Assistant Headteacher.

Two fixed-term posts are available, with a 32.5-hour week over 39 weeks and pro rata pay (£16.07–£17.16 per hour; £31,015–£33,119 per annum).

Qualifications

• Ability to support pupils with complex learning difficulties including pupils with ASD.
• Commitment to safeguarding and welfare of all pupils.
• Willingness to undertake training including health procedures and iHCPs.
• Excellent team player with flexible and proactive approach.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils personal, health and hygiene needs, including during hydrotherapy sessions.
• Follow timetable and monitor safety, welfare and progress of pupils.
• Record observations and help track pupil progress as required.
• Assist with transitions and support and implement iHCPs.
