Job description

Social network you want to login/join with:

If you want to be dropped into the centre of the action — solving big problems, launching new ideas, and working directly with the leadership of one of the UK’s most ambitious media companies — this is for you.

We’re building a new Special Projects team at OQS Media (the publisher of The Spectator, UnHerd, Apollo) to take on the company’s most important and unconventional challenges. You might be asked to help launch a new product, dig into a business problem, scope out an investment opportunity, project manage a building renovation, coordinate an international team, or help headhunt out next big hire. You’ll work directly with our C-suite and get exposure to every part of the business — editorial, commercial, product, and beyond.

This is a hands-on, fast-paced role for someone sharp, curious and ambitious — ideal if you’re considering a path in consulting, startups, media or politics, but want to learn by doing rather than sit on the sidelines.

You’ll thrive in this role if you:

Love solving problems and figuring things out

  • Are clear-thinking, fast-learning, and highly organised
  • Communicate well — in writing, in meetings, and with spreadsheets or slides
  • Enjoy juggling multiple workstreams and making sense of complexity
  • Want to take responsibility early and be stretched

This isn’t a grad scheme. It’s better.

Requirements

  • Strong problem-solving instincts — you enjoy figuring things out from first principles
  • Comfortable with data, spreadsheets, presentations, and general digital tools
  • Willingness to get stuck into everything — no task too big or too small
  • Discretion and professionalism when dealing with sensitive projects or information
  • Interest in media, journalism, ideas, or politics — you’ll be working close to the core of all three
  • Salary dependent on experience.
  • Generous Holiday Allowance with 25 days holiday per calendar year + birthday holiday bonus + Bank Holiday Leave
  • All staff receive generous discounts at our Company restaurant, as well as free breakfast and fruit
