Job summary

A large SEND school in Witney seeks dedicated individuals for a full-time position supporting pupils with complex needs, including behavioural challenges and special educational needs. This temporary-to-permanent role demands resilience and a commitment to provide educational support from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Ideal candidates will have previous experience with children or young adults and excellent behaviour management skills.

Qualifications

  • Experience with children or young adults is essential.
  • Professional manner required inside and outside the school.
  • Desire to support children and build relationships with staff and pupils.

Responsibilities

  • Support pupils aged 8-18 with complex needs including ASD and challenging behaviours.
  • Provide references from an educational background.
  • Work with pupils on a 1:1 basis when needed.

Job description

Location: Witney

Pay: £90 - £110 p/day

Start date: 02/09/2025

We are looking for individuals to fill a demanding role supporting pupils aged 8-18 with complex needs including challenging behaviours, Asperger's, ASD, and ADHD. The environment can be intense and emotionally draining.

This is a temporary-to-permanent position, so please only apply if you're prepared to commit long-term. The school is a large SEND provision in Witney, and they need two more people to join their team and help educate the next generation of students.

Full-time only: 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM, Monday to Friday.

Part-time or flexible working is not an option.

The candidate needs to...

  • Be able to provide us with references from an educational background
  • Have experience with children or young adults (essential)
  • Be able to work with and support SEND pupils
  • Have a professional manner in and outside of the school
  • Be friendly and resilient as behaviours can be challenging and tiresome for staff
  • Have a desire to support children
  • Have excellent behaviour management skills, or be willing to learn
  • Support on a 1:1 basis when needed
  • Build great relationships with staff and pupils
  • Be able to work on site and off site, managing behaviours in both areas
  • Be flexible in the workplace
