Job summary

Chiltern Way Academy Wokingham is seeking a caring Teaching Assistant to support students aged 8-16 with ASC, in a nurturing and forward-thinking classroom.

You will work with individuals and small groups to help them progress, promote positive behaviour and independence, and assist with planning and organisation. Our modern schools provide a safe environment and meaningful professional development. An enhanced DBS check is required.

Qualifications

• Patient, flexible and enthusiastic.
• Able to build positive relationships with young people.
• Team player with good communication skills.
• Experience working with children or young people.
• GCSE English & Maths (A-C) and ideally NVQ Level 2.

Responsibilities

• Support teachers in delivering learning activities.
• Work with individuals and small groups to help them progress.
• Promote positive behaviour, engagement and independence.
• Help create a calm, safe and supportive learning environment.
• Build positive relationships with students and staff.
• Assist with basic planning, preparation and classroom organisation.
