Job description

We are urgently looking for people who have a background or experience working with young people or adults with complex special needs across Sefton and Liverpool.

Particularly in the Bootle, Southport, and Netherton areas.

Your role will involve working in a classroom setting, often on a one-to-one, two-to-one, or three-to-one basis with a young person under the guidance of a teacher.

We are seeking individuals with experience working with young people or adults with complex needs in any setting.

The Role:

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and support staff to:

  • Provide 1:1 or small group support for pupils across KS3 and KS4.
  • Help deliver personalised learning and behaviour strategies.
  • Support pupils' social and emotional development.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils who may have experienced trauma or disruption in their education.
  • Contribute to a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment.

We're Looking For:

  • Experience working with children or young people, particularly those with SEMH or additional needs.
  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach.
  • Strong behaviour management and excellent communication skills.
  • A team player who is also confident working independently.
  • A willingness to learn and undertake relevant CPD.

These roles are based in specialist schools and are term-time only. Hours are 8.30 am - 3.30 pm.
