SEN Teaching Assistant - Hounslow
1:1 Support for Year 4 Pupil with Autism and Challenging Behaviour
Start Date: September 2025

We are looking for a confident, resilient, and caring SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Hounslow, starting in September 2025.

This is a full-time role, supporting a Year 4 pupil with autism and associated behavioural challenges on a 1:1 basis. The successful candidate will play a key role in helping the child engage with learning, manage emotions, and develop positive routines in school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide consistent and structured support throughout the school day.

  • Implement behaviour support strategies in collaboration with the SENCO and external professionals.

  • Support the pupil's social, emotional, and academic development.

  • Promote a calm, safe, and encouraging learning environment.

  • Build a trusting and positive relationship with the pupil and their family.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience working with children with autism and/or challenging behaviour.

  • Strong behaviour management skills and a calm, proactive approach.

  • A patient, empathetic, and adaptable nature.

  • Knowledge of positive behaviour strategies and SEN best practices.
