Job summary

Outcomes First Group is seeking a dedicated Teacher for maternity cover at Yiewsley Grange School, West Drayton. This full-time, fixed-term role runs until 31 July 2027, with a 37.5 hour week, Monday–Friday, starting November 2026.

You will teach students with autism and additional needs in a supportive, collaborative environment. The role focuses on tailored lessons, ongoing assessment, and development of individual education plans within a specialist education setting.

Qualifications

• A relevant teaching qualification.
• Experience planning and delivering engaging lessons.
• Experience supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder and behaviours that challenge.
• Ability to tailor teaching to individual strengths, needs and starting points.
• Commitment to safeguarding and achieving the best possible outcomes for every student.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, personalised lessons for individual students and small groups in line with the school’s curriculum.
• Adapt teaching, resources and learning environments to meet individual needs and enable students to make meaningful progress.
• Monitor, assess and record student progress, using this information to shape future learning and individual targets.
• Develop and review Individual Education Plans, behaviour plans and other personalised programmes.
• Create a structured and supportive classroom where students feel safe, understood and ready to learn.
• Support students to develop confidence, independence and self-regulation, including those who may display behaviours that challenge.
• Lead and coordinate Learning Support Assistants and other colleagues to provide consistent and effective support.
• Work closely with families and the wider multi-professional team to support each student’s education, development and wellbeing.
