About the Role:

A welcoming primary school in the Birkenhead area is seeking a dedicated Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join their team. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs and helping them succeed in both learning and personal development.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support children with special educational needs (e.g. autism, ADHD, speech and language, social/emotional needs).
  • Provide encouragement to build pupils confidence and independence.
  • Assist teachers in creating inclusive and engaging lessons.
  • Promote a safe, positive, and supportive classroom environment.
  • Collaborate with staff and parents to ensure the best outcomes for pupils.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience supporting children with SEN is desirable.
  • A patient, empathetic, and enthusiastic approach to working with young children.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Flexibility and resilience in a busy classroom environment.
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
