Job description

We are excited to offer an opportunity for a passionate and dedicated Registered Children’s Nurse to join our forward-thinking Special Needs Nursing Service in Manchester. This is a 12-month fixed-term role working Monday - Friday, 32.5 hours per week, Term-Time only, where you will play a key role in supporting children and young people (CYP) with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

The applicant needs to be a car driver and owner and be able to cover the citywide service area in Manchester.

Key skills required include excellent communication, organisational, IT, and leadership skills.

  1. Deliver evidence-based nursing care to children with Complex Medical Needs and SEND in school and community settings.
  2. Work autonomously and as part of a team to deliver high-quality care.
  3. Assess, plan, and implement care for CYP with complex health needs.
  4. Provide specialist health promotion tailored to children with SEND, focusing on improving health outcomes.
  5. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support children with Learning Disabilities, Autism, and Complex Health Needs.
  6. Create care plans and deliver training to school staff, parents, and caregivers to ensure safe school attendance for CYP.
  7. Act as an advocate and safeguard vulnerable children.
