Job summary

2Excel Group is seeking a Prestwick-based Captain to join our Special Missions division to deliver this 24/7/365 SAR contract. You will fly the King Air B350 with a First Officer, alongside a Sensor Operator, across day and night shifts for UK and regional missions.

The role requires security clearance, a CPL/ATPL with IR, 1500+ hours (incl. 750 PIC) and King Air experience. Training at Humberside includes simulator time; a bond may apply. Accommodation and allowances are provided.

Qualifications

• Class 1 medical required.
• UK CPL (or ATPL) with IR.
• 1500+ total flying hours (including 750 PIC, 100 IR and 100 Night).
• At least 100 hours on King Air Series aircraft (or equivalent).
• Relevant experience in military, police or coastguard.
• Lead pilot/managerial role in a forward operating base.
• King Air 350 type rating desirable; training provided.
• Must have or be able to obtain UK Security Clearance and hold a valid UK driving licence.

Our Special Missions division delivers specialist aviation services to the UK Government and industry customers. We deliver a next-generation Search and Rescue contract which operates 24/7/365 out of Prestwick, Humberside and Newquay.

About The Role

We are looking for a Prestwick-based Captain to join our growing team to help us deliver this exciting contract. The flying will be varied and challenging, this is not your average A to B aviation job. Your duties will include the delivery of specialist surveillance tasks within the UK and neighbouring States. Our Aircraft are often deployed on life-saving Search and Rescue (SAR) missions across the UK. Your expertise will help ensure our aircraft are mission-ready, contributing directly to the protection of lives in critical situations.

Captains will fly the King Air B350 with a First Officer multi-pilot, on day and night shifts. Each crew will also have a Sensor Operator on board, who manages the sensors and mission equipment.

• Class 1 medical
• UK CPL (or ATPL) with IR
• 1500 + total flying hours (Including 750 PIC, 100 IR and 100 Night)
• At least 100 hours on King Air Series aircraft (or equivalent, at the discretion of the Director of Flight Operations)

• Relevant experience in a similar setting (military, police, coastguard)
• Proven experience in taking a lead pilot/managerial role in a forward operating base
• A current King Air 350 type rating is highly desirable, but not essential as training will be provided*

In addition, applicants must already have, or have the ability to obtain, UK Security Clearance and hold a valid UK Driving Licence.

Please note, this job is immediately available, with training commencing ASAP. The successful applicant will be required to conduct the majority of training at Humberside. Accommodation and suitable allowances will be provided throughout training.

• Successful applicants who do not already have a current King Air 350 type rating, will need to spend up to 3 weeks away from home in the simulator for initial training. All costs related to training (est £20,000) will be subject to a bond for a 2 year period, repayable in the event you leave our employment. The value of the bond will decrease by 25% every 6 months during that 2 year period.
