Roles and Responsibilities
  • Direct Intervention Delivery: Execute planned 1:1 and small-group support sessions for primary-aged pupils with formal Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs) or identified complex needs.
  • Resource Adaptation: Modify the learning environment and educational materials to guarantee full accessibility and inclusion, actively encouraging student autonomy.
  • Collaborative Practice: Work closely with the SEN Coordinator (SENCO) and classroom teachers to rigorously monitor student attainment, prepare reports for statutory review meetings, and aid in setting future targets.
  • Pastoral Care: Provide consistent emotional backing, reassurance, and serve as a reliable positive role model to assist students in navigating their daily school routines successfully.
Essential Requirements for Application

To be considered for this vital position, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • A minimum of six months of demonstrable professional experience in a UK school setting, supporting pupils with a variety of Special Educational Needs (e.g., Autism Spectrum Disorder, Moderate Learning Difficulties).
  • Outstanding patience, resilience, empathy, and proven skills in managing challenging behaviour and de-escalation techniques.
  • Exceptional ability to establish clear, professional, and effective communication with students, parents/carers, and the wider staff team.
  • Unwavering full-time commitment and availability for the entire long-term duration of the placement.
  • Possession of a current Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the Update Service, or immediate willingness to undergo a new application process.
