POST: Special Educational Needs Co-Ordinator

LOCATION: West Bromwich Collegiate Academy

HOURS: Full Time, Permanent

REQUIRED FOR: September 2025

West Bromwich Collegiate Academy is an oversubscribed Secondary School in the Black Country. The Academy opened its doors in September 2019 with 175 students and has continued to grow each year. It is now at full capacity with 805 students on roll.

Recently graded by Ofsted as outstanding in 3 categories and extremely close to outstanding in the 4th, West Bromwich Collegiate Academy is committed to an inclusive education for all students at every ability level, and equipping students for the future through teaching them relevant and cutting-edge skills for the era in which they live. Most importantly we believe that every student should be safe, happy, ambitious for themselves and respectful of all.

We are looking for passionate and creative teacher who work well within a team and who will help us on our journey to provide exceptional educational provision for our pupils and families.

Key Responsibilities:

Will be responsible for cultivating an inclusive learning environment throughout WBCA

Will lead on the strategic direction and development of the Academy offer for SEND students

Has a genuine passion and a belief in the potential of every student

Has a deep commitment to the Trust’s aim of providing an excellent education to every student, regardless of background

Has high standards for themselves and the staff and students in their care

Candidates should be able to demonstrate:

The successful candidate will:

Have experience teaching across the key stages. Applications from newly qualified teachers are also welcome

Be a consistently good/outstanding teacher

Be an exceptional classroom practitioner with high expectations of both learning and behaviour

Able to inspire, motivate and enthuse pupils

Committed to raising standards for all and share the same drive to constantly learn and improve

Show willingness to lead initiatives and show evidence of impact.

Demonstrate a passion to make a difference to others

To be proficient with the use of technology for learning and have a willingness to innovate.
