Job summary

Ivy House School is seeking a Teaching Assistant to join our team as we expand. You will support pupils aged 2-19 with a range of SEND needs and assist teachers in the classroom and in welfare tasks. The role requires motivation, experience in similar settings and a commitment to an individualised approach.

We welcome applicants with NVQ Level 2 or demonstrable knowledge and skills, first aid training and a flexible, caring approach to learning and welfare matters.

Qualifications

• Must have NVQ Level 2 or demonstration of knowledge and skill or experience.
• Assist children in personal needs and welfare matters including first aid.
• Good understanding of learning areas for SEND (Literacy, Numeracy, Science, SEN & Early Years).
• Experience of supporting children’s learning in a school or similar setting.
• Motivation to work with children and young people.

Responsibilities

• Work under direct instruction of teaching staff, usually in the classroom with the teacher.
• Provide specific support to the teacher in the care of pupils and classroom management.
• Work may be in the classroom or outside the main teaching area.
