Job summary

Targeted Provision is seeking SEND Tutors and Teachers in the UK to provide in-person, online, or hybrid Maths, English, or Science tuition for learners with SEND and SEMH needs. You will plan and deliver trauma-informed tutoring, tailored to KS1–KS5 levels, referred by local authorities and schools.

This self-employed role offers flexible hours and modes of teaching, with a clear focus on making a real difference in disengaged and vulnerable learners’ lives.

Qualifications

• 2+ years teaching experience, ideally with SEND/SEMH, trauma-informed approach.
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS / QTLS) required.
• Enhanced DBS clearance and 2+ professional references.
• UK-based with right to work, including remote postings.
• Knowledge of safeguarding in learning environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-person, online, and hybrid Maths, English, or Science tutoring to children and young people with SEND/SEMH needs.
• Support KS1–KS5 learners with flexible, trauma-informed tutoring and mentoring.
• Plan lessons, report progress, and give regular feedback.
• Contribute to raising standards for SEND learners and safeguarding in practice.

SEND Tutor And Teacher Role Requirements

• Experience: 2+ years teaching experience, ideally working with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, and/or PMLD in a holistic and trauma-informed way
• Subjects: Familiarity teaching English, Maths, and/or Science
• Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS / QTLS)
• Compliance: Enhanced DBS (we can facilitate this if needed) and 2+ professional references
• Location: You must be based in the UK with the right to work in the UK, even for remote / online jobs
• Safeguarding: Knowledge of safeguarding and creating a safe learning environment

The SEND Tutor And Teacher Role And Responsibilities

• Provide in person, online / remote, and hybridMaths, English, or Science tuition to children, teenagers, and young people with SEMH and SEND needs, including MLD, SLD, PMLD, and other Additional Educational Needs
• Support pupils and students, ranging from KS1 - KS5 (as appropriate for your skills), referred by local authorities and schools by planning and delivering flexible, trauma-informed tutoring and mentoring
• Plan and report for lessons and provide regular feedback on student progress
• We are on a mission to raise the standard of education provided to young people with SEND (Special Education Needs and Disabilities), as well as other needs such as SEMH needs (Social, Emotional and Mental Health). We are increasingly supporting children and young people with MLD (Moderate Learning Difficulties), SLD (Severe Learning Difficulties), and PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties).
