Job summary

Targeted Provision is seeking Core Subject SEND Tutors and Teachers to support disengaged and vulnerable learners with SEND/SEMH needs. Roles include Maths, English or Science tutoring in person, online or hybrid, for KS1–KS5 as appropriate, working with local authorities and schools.

The position is self-employed, with flexible hours and a strong focus on trauma-informed practice to improve outcomes for young people in the community.

Qualifications

• 2+ years teaching experience with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD or PMLD in a trauma-informed way.
• Familiarity with teaching English, Maths, and/or Science.

Responsibilities

• Provide Maths, English, or Science tuition in person, online, or hybrid.
• Support pupils referred by local authorities with flexible tutoring and mentoring.
• Plan and report lessons and give feedback on progress.
• Promote SEND awareness and trauma-informed teaching to raise educational standards.

SEND Tutor And Teacher Role Requirements

• Experience: 2+ years teaching experience, ideally working with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, and/or PMLD in a holistic and trauma-informed way
• Subjects: Familiarity teaching English, Maths, and/or Science
• Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS / QTLS)
• Compliance: Enhanced DBS (we can facilitate this if needed) and 2+ professional references
• Location: You must be based in the UK with the right to work in the UK, even for remote / online jobs
• Safeguarding: Knowledge of safeguarding and creating a safe learning environment

The SEND Tutor And Teacher Role And Responsibilities

• Provide in person, online / remote, and hybridMaths, English, or Science tuition to children, teenagers, and young people with SEMH and SEND needs, including MLD, SLD, PMLD, and other Additional Educational Needs
• Support pupils and students, ranging from KS1 - KS5 (as appropriate for your skills), referred by local authorities and schools by planning and delivering flexible, trauma-informed tutoring and mentoring
• Plan and report for lessons and provide regular feedback on student progress
• We are on a mission to raise the standard of education provided to young people with SEND (Special Education Needs and Disabilities), as well as other needs such as SEMH needs (Social, Emotional and Mental Health). We are increasingly supporting children and young people with MLD (Moderate Learning Difficulties), SLD (Severe Learning Difficulties), and PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties).
