Job Title: Special Education Needs Teacher
Location: Bournemouth
Salary: £31,650 - £49,084 per annum (MPS/UPS) (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate/September 2025
Contract Type: Permanent/Full-time

GSL Education are looking for a passionate and dedicated SEN Teacher to join a supportive and welcoming school in Bournemouth. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) by providing them with the guidance, encouragement, and tailored education they need to succeed.

As a Special Education Needs Teacher, you will play a key role in creating a safe, engaging, and structured learning environment. Your expertise and commitment will help students develop essential skills, build confidence, and reach their full potential. This role requires patience, creativity, and a strong understanding of how to adapt teaching strategies to meet individual learning needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver lessons that are tailored to the individual needs of students with SEN, ensuring they can access learning effectively.
• Adapt teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles, helping students to overcome challenges and progress in their education.
• Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel safe, valued, and supported.
• Work closely with teaching assistants, support staff, parents, and external professionals to provide holistic support to students.
• Encourage students to develop independence, social skills, and confidence in their abilities.
• Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback and adjusting teaching strategies as needed.

Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Previous experience working with students with SEN in a school setting.
• A compassionate and patient approach to teaching, with a commitment to helping students succeed.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and parents.
• An up-to-date CV covering the last ten years, with no unexplained gaps.
• An enhanced DBS check registered on the update service or willingness to apply for one.
