Job Title: Special Education Needs TA
Location: Dorchester
Salary: £13.68-£16.12 per hour (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are seeking a reliable and helpful SEN Teaching Assistant to join a friendly school in Dorchester. You will provide vital support to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), helping them to learn and succeed.

About the Role: You will work closely with teachers to give extra help to students who need it. This includes working one-on-one or in small groups, helping with lessons, and making sure all students can join in class activities.

What You Will Do:

• Give extra learning support to students with SEN.
• Help teachers change lessons for individual student needs.
• Help students with their feelings and getting along with others.
• Make a friendly and welcoming classroom.
• Help keep the classroom organised and encourage good behaviour.
• Write down and share how students are doing with teachers.

What’s Needed for This Role

• Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, especially with SEN, in a school.
• A strong desire to help students learn and do well.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to change how you help, depending on what the student needs.
• A CV covering the last ten years (with no unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
