About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Special Needs Co-ordinator (SENCO) to join our dynamic secondary school team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate educator with a strong background in special educational needs and leadership to make a meaningful impact on students' lives.

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a PGCE in Secondary Education
  • Proven leadership experience within an educational setting
  • Strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and current legislation
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lead and support staff in delivering inclusive education

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the strategic development of the school's SEN policy and provision
  • Coordinate and monitor the day-to-day operation of the SEN policy
  • Work closely with staff, parents, and external agencies to support students with special educational needs
  • Lead on the identification of students with SEN and ensure appropriate interventions are in place
  • Provide professional guidance to colleagues and contribute to staff training and development
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of SEN provision and report to senior leadership
