Locations: Leeds

We're looking for a Spares Buyer to join our Client's Procurement Team. This is a key role in ensuring the efficient purchasing of spare parts and indirect procurement items. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in procurement, excellent negotiation skills, and a keen eye for supplier relationship management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Source, negotiate, and procure spare parts and indirect procurement items in line with business requirements.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure cost efficiency and service reliability.
  • Monitor stock levels and work closely with internal stakeholders to forecast demand and manage inventory effectively.
  • Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and regulatory standards.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and drive continuous improvements in the supply chain.
  • Manage supplier contracts, price negotiations, and service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Work closely with engineering, maintenance, and production teams to support operational needs.
  • Analyse market trends and supplier performance to optimise procurement strategies.
  • Process purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of goods and services.

What We're Looking For:

  • 3+ years of experience in purchasing or procurement, with a strong preference for indirect procurement experience.
  • CIPS qualification (or working towards it) is highly desirable.
  • Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
  • Experience in a manufacturing, engineering, or industrial environment is beneficial.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
