Job summary

Graham Eyes in Carlisle is seeking a Meat Counter Assistant to join a secure and growing family business. From day one you will receive full training and ongoing support to develop skills in meat preparation, counter service, and product presentation.

You will work as part of a close-knit team, maintain high standards of hygiene and safety, date code products, and deliver excellent customer service while keeping displays well-stocked and fresh.

Qualifications

• Willingness to undertake training to become skilled butcher.
• Ability to follow hygiene and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Preparing fresh meat products to high standards of quality and presentation.
• Assisting with cutting, trimming, and portioning meat (with training provided).
• Accurately date code products in line with company and food safety standards.
• Carrying out temperature checks to ensure compliance and food safety.
• Delivering excellent customer service at the meat counter by serving, advising, and engaging with customers.
• Keeping displays well-stocked, attractive, and fresh throughout the day.
• Following strict hygiene, cleaning, and safety procedures to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
• Supporting your colleagues and working as part of a close-knit team.
