Job summary

Alexander Associates is seeking a Fluid Systems Engineer to work on space-ready hardware at the Harwell site. The role focuses on developing fluid systems from requirements through to manufacture, integration and testing, with a hands-on design-to-build emphasis.

Ideal candidates have 4–5+ years in fluid systems across aerospace, propulsion or related fields and a practical understanding of pressurised fluids, gas handling, and cryogenics. UK site work required.

Qualifications

• 4–5+ years of engineering experience with fluid systems.
• Strong practical understanding of pressurised fluid systems.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop fluid system architecture and hardware.
• Perform requirements definition and engineering calculations.
• Select and integrate valves, regulators, pumps, tanks, pipework, and instrumentation.
• Carry out pressure, flow and pressure-drop calculations.
• Support component specification and supplier selection.
• Develop and test prototype hardware.
• Support manufacture, assembly and integration.
• Plan and conduct system testing and testing of components.
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware issues.
• Collaborate with mechanical, systems and test teams.
