A leading educational institution in the UK seeks a motivated Cluster Development Manager to lead the Space Hub Yorkshire's Campus pillar. The role involves fostering collaboration among 12 universities and various partners to enhance the Space sector in Yorkshire. Salary: Grade 8 (£48,149 – £57,422 p.a. depending on experience)

Do you want to take a leading role in growing a regional Space cluster in Yorkshire, working with research and education institutes, businesses, and government agencies across the UK?
We are looking for experienced and motivated applicants to apply for the position of Space Hub Yorkshire (SHY) Cluster Development Manager, leading the Campus pillar of the SHY development strategy. Hosted at the University of Leeds and working closely with all Yorkshire Universities, local schools, and colleges, this is an exciting opportunity to lead the growth of a Space Hub in the UK. A key aspect of the role will be to foster collaboration among all 12 Yorkshire Universities, facilitate Knowledge Exchange from academia to industry, and support the development of our virtual Space Campus.
You should have an excellent track record of leadership, partnership working, cluster development experience, knowledge of the Space sector, and enthusiasm for working with academics, industry, and international Space agencies.
Space Hub Yorkshire (SHY) supports the growth of the UK’s Space industry in Yorkshire. The consortium includes universities, colleges, local authorities, government agencies, and commercial partners across Yorkshire and Humber, building links with other UK clusters. SHY has secured three rounds of UK Space Agency funding for regional development, in collaboration with the Space Agency and Satellite Applications Catapult. The UKSA grant supports national efforts to grow the UK’s Space sector through regional hubs.
SHY has grown from a startup to an established cluster, hosting national events showcasing expertise in satellite Earth observation, environmental monitoring, high-performance manufacturing, robotics, and RF technology. Stakeholders include the Satellite Applications Catapult, Yorkshire LEPs, Mayoral Authorities, universities, UKSA, and over 250 companies.
The role involves engaging with universities, businesses, policymakers, and industry partners. The position is based at the School of Earth and Environment, University of Leeds, with collaboration across Yorkshire’s academic institutions.
