The University of Reading is a top 30 UK university that has been at the forefront of UK higher education for nearly a century. As an organisation it is committed to acting together, as a diverse and inclusive community, to deliver a better world through the transformational power of education and research. Within this community, the Estates Directorate have a critical role to play in managing the University’s substantial land and property interests.

Much of our data comes from our technical drawings (CADs) and our CAFM (Computer Aided Facilities Management) system. Accurate and timely management of these datasets is essential to our understanding of the estate and to the development of the space-related solutions that will support our growth targets.

About The Role

The role is primarily focused on the day-to-day management of space and space requests, including checking and updating the CAFM system, running reports, and engaging with occupants to answer questions and gather requirements.

There is an administrative element involving coordinating audits, managing documentation, and reviewing policies.

Much of the work involves assisting the Space Manager, with opportunities to develop good working relationships with Building Support Officers (BSO’s), Timetabling, and Health & Safety Services (HSS).

About You

You will have strong communication skills to build relationships with stakeholders and convey information clearly via email and in person.
