Job description
Overview

3 x 37 hours per week, Pharmacy Department, Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. Band 7 Rotational Pharmacist (£50,861). We are looking for ambitious and motivated pharmacists to join our current team of Band 7 rotational pharmacists. You will be based within Aberdeen Royal Infirmary and rotations may involve the Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital, The Aberdeen Maternity Hospital and Woodend Hospital (all in Aberdeen city).

It is an exciting period for NHS Grampian as we have two major developments the ANCHOR Centre (Cancer) and the Baird Family Hospital (which will replace the current maternity hospital), currently in construction and due to open 2026/27. A new NHS Grampian Strategy focuses on creating sustainable health and care over the next 10 years and aims to balance responding to illness with helping people to stay well.

Responsibilities
  • Participate in an established rotation providing knowledge and experience across pharmacy disciplines including medicine, oncology, surgery, paediatrics, aseptic dispensing, medicines information, dispensary, radiopharmacy and quality assurance.
  • Receive training and support centered around the post-registration foundation framework.
  • Provide training and support to more junior colleagues and pharmacy students.
  • Be committed to joining the on-call rota with training for on-call duties commencing after an initial settling-in period.

NOTE: There is more than one available post and applications are also invited from suitable candidates who wish to work part time.
