Position: Sous Chef – Retail/Catering Outlet - £29,000 - Southampton – Work/Life Balance

We are seeking an experienced Sous Chef to join a retail/leisure complex near Hedge End, Southampton. The establishment serves fresh food, and we are looking for someone passionate about hospitality to assist with food preparation, cooking, and presentation to a high standard.

Key Information:
  • Salary: £28,000 - £29,000
  • Hours: 38-hour contract with a 2-week rolling rota; flexible working hours, typically 7.5-hour shifts on weekdays and 8-hour shifts on weekends
  • Location: Southampton
  • Contract: Permanent
Sous Chef Responsibilities:
  • Ensure food preparation and presentation meet required standards
  • Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of all working areas
  • Supervise and motivate team members when required
  • Comply with health, safety, and food safety legislation
  • Monitor portion control, manage fresh food and dry store orders
