Sous Chef - No late Nights Shropshire
Contract: Full Time, Permanent
Salary: £29,200
Hours: 40 per week

About the Role

A co-educational preparatory day and boarding school in Overton, Shropshire, catering for 300 students and teachers daily. The role involves preparing and serving meals, ensuring hygiene standards, and supporting the catering team.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Prepare all food service areas for the day's meal service.
  2. Ensure prompt and standard-compliant service of all meals.
  3. Maintain preparation and presentation standards.
  4. Set up, serve, clear, clean, and store food, beverages, and equipment.
  5. Follow hygiene and safety practices in food preparation.
  6. Restock and replenish stocks during service.
  7. Communicate stock needs and potential delays to the front of house.
  8. Complete cleaning and hygiene duties.
  9. Serve customers and guests according to standards.
  10. Manage waste and recycling appropriately.
  11. Assist with ordering and stock management.
  12. Adhere to health and safety regulations.
  13. Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen at shift end.
  14. Attend meetings and training as required.
  15. Report stock movements to the head chef.
General Responsibilities
  1. Attend staff meetings.
  2. Follow policies and procedures, including legislation.
  3. Wear and maintain a clean uniform and personal presentation.
  4. Conduct food temperature checks.
  5. Perform reasonable requests from management.
  6. Provide cover for colleagues as needed.
  7. Report hazards and ensure health and safety.
