Job summary

Gather and Gather is recruiting a Sous Chef to join the team at Royal London. This hands-on role supports the Head Chef, leads a team of 14 across Kitchen and Front of House, and delivers a varied breakfast, deli, soups, hot meals and daily specials on a 40-hour week.

Based in the UK, the position offers a £35,000 annual salary, Monday to Friday shifts, and opportunities for personal development, training and wellbeing benefits as part of Compass Group UK&I.

Responsibilities

• Support the Head Chef with the day-to-day running of the kitchen.
• Produce a varied food offer including breakfast, deli bar, soups and hot meals.
• Lead by example during service and support a team of 14 across Kitchen and FOH.
• Assist with ordering, stock control, food safety and waste management.
• Help plan menus and introduce new ideas to keep the offer fresh.
• Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation and service.
• Support hospitality and event catering when required.
• Step up and lead the kitchen in the Head Chef's absence.
• Ensure health and safety and food hygiene standards are met at all times.

Salary: £35,000 per annum

Shift Pattern: Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Head Chef with the day-to-day running of the kitchen.


• Produce a varied food offer including breakfast, salad bar, deli bar, soups, hot meals and daily specials.


• Help deliver fresh, high-quality food for a busy Business & Industry site.


• Lead by example during service and support a team of 14 across Kitchen and Front of House.


• Assist with ordering, stock control, food safety and managing waste.


• Help plan menus and introduce new ideas to keep the food offer fresh and exciting.


• Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation and customer service.


• Support hospitality and event catering when required.


• Step up and lead the kitchen in the Head Chef's absence.


• Ensure all health & safety and food hygiene standards are met at all times.
