Job summary

JW Lees is seeking a Sous Chef to join our kitchen team at one of our North West pubs. You will lead the kitchen in the Head Chef’s absence and help develop menus while ensuring a safe, compliant environment.

You will mentor junior staff, uphold high standards and 5-star scores, and motivate the team to deliver fresh, quality dishes. Competitive pay, tips, and progression through culinary apprenticeships are available.

Qualifications

• Experience as a sous chef in a busy kitchen.
• Knowledge of food safety and HACCP principles.

Responsibilities

• Lead the kitchen team in the Head Chef’s absence.
• Support with menu development and stock management; maintain a safe, compliant kitchen.
• Provide guidance to junior kitchen staff.
• Maintain high standards and 5-star scores on the doors.
• Motivate the team to present fresh, quality dishes.
• Play an integral role in training junior team members.
