A leading food service company in Edinburgh is seeking a passionate Sous Chef to support kitchen operations. In this role, you will prepare fresh meals, lead junior team members, and maintain high hygiene standards in a Monday to Friday schedule. Ideal candidates have previous kitchen experience and a passion for quality food prepared with seasonal ingredients.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Sous Chef or Senior CDP in a busy kitchen.
  • Solid knowledge of food safety and kitchen best practice (Level 2 or 3 Food Hygiene ideal).
  • Excellent teamwork, organisation, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Chef Manager in delivering high-quality food.
  • Prep and cook a variety of fresh dishes.
  • Lead the kitchen and mentor junior team members.
  • Maintain high standards of hygiene and food safety.
  • Assist with stock control and ordering.

Sous Chef - Edinburgh

£30,341 per annum

Monday - Friday role!

We're looking for a passionate and reliable Sous Chef to support the day-to-day running of a busy kitchen at a leading food manufacturing site in Edinburgh. Working alongside a talented Chef Manager, you'll play a vital role in preparing fresh, delicious meals for hard-working teams in a fast-paced, food-loving environment.

This is a rare opportunity to showcase your culinary skills, work Monday to Friday (hello, weekends off!) and be part of a supportive, enthusiastic kitchen team.

What You'll be doing:

  • Supporting the Chef Manager in delivering tasty, high-quality food every day

  • Prepping and cooking a variety of fresh dishes for breakfast, lunch, and hospitality service

  • Taking the lead in the kitchen when required and mentoring junior team members

  • Helping maintain high standards of hygiene, food safety, and compliance

  • Assisting with stock control, ordering, and minimising waste

  • Bringing ideas to the table to improve menus and service

What you'll bring:

  • Previous experience as a Sous Chef or Senior CDP in a busy kitchen

  • Passion for great food and seasonal ingredients

  • Solid knowledge of food safety and kitchen best practice (Level 2 or 3 Food Hygiene ideal)
