Blue Arrow - Southampton Perm Hub is seeking a Sous Chef for a busy kitchen, offering a package of up to £45k. The role focuses on fresh, modern British menus with Rosette standards and daily specials, including weddings and buffets.

You will join a family-run, mid-Sussex kitchen with flexible shifts, strong training, and clear progression opportunities to grow with the team.

Qualifications

• Experience in gastro pubs or hotels is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Check cleanliness, organisation and standards within the kitchen.
• Assist brigade in smooth, safe running of kitchen operations.
• Manage day-to-day running of your section.
• Contribute to development of menus and service in the kitchen.
• Ensure food quality meets high standards.
• Adhere to health and safety and hygiene regulations.
• Order daily with stock usage and menu planning in mind.

Sous Chef - Package of up to £45k

Privately owned, family run, 150 cover bar & restaurant situated in Mid-Sussex, close to Haywards Heath & Burgess Hill.

We are currently one of the top-rated restaurants in Sussex and are currently looking for a Sous Chef to join our talented team to continue providing fantastic quality fresh dishes.

Our freshly made Rosette standard seasonal menu is key to our business. It features modern British cuisine that combine the classics alongside more contemporary dishes. We also run specials which change daily.

In addition to this we also cater for large group bookings, weddings, and buffets so there is always plenty of variety.

We are looking for someone who:

• Has innovation, creativity and attention to detail
• Relishes in the pressure of a kitchen environment
• Has a background in Gastro pubs or hotels
• Ideally has their own transport
• Is used to working with fresh ingredients and places heavy emphasis on quality and consistency
• Has a good understanding of health & safety and food safety guidelines within the kitchen

Responsibilities:

• Checking the cleanliness, organisation and standards within the kitchen
• Assisting the brigade in the smooth, safe and efficient running of the kitchen operation
• Responsible for the day to day running of any given section
• Demonstrating a committed approach to the development of creative menus and service in the kitchen
• Ensuring the quality of food is of the exceptional standard expected
• Be aware of health and safety and hygiene regulations
• Ordering on a daily basis, whilst keeping in mind stock usage, menu planning and business levels
