Job summary

BAO Borough is seeking a proactive Sous Chef to support the Senior Sous and Head Chef in a fast-paced, high‑standard kitchen at Borough Market. You will lead sections, ensure consistency across dishes and help motivate the team.

We value pride in doing things properly, a calm, organised leadership style and a willingness to develop junior chefs. The role offers growth opportunities within the BAO group and a competitive salary of £44,500 per year.

The Restaurant.

Located at the edge of Borough Market. BAO serves innovative Asian dishes in an informal, fast-paced,BAO Borough has Yakitori grill, grab & go hatch and Karaoke room. Bao's goal is to create restaurants that offer a different experience to each other, inspired by our founder's upbringing and travels around Asia. Each restaurant within the group has a unique menu and a different story.. .

The Position.

As Sous Chef, you’ll be a key part of the kitchen leadership team, supporting the Senior Sous and Head Chef in delivering excellent food, maintaining high standards, and helping the team stay organised and energised.. You’ll lead services, manage sections, and play a hands‑on role in building a strong kitchen culture. What you’ll be doing.
