ABOUT THE ROLE

Your role as Sous Chef will be to support the Head Chef in leading a culinary team that provides a nutritionally balanced, comprehensive, and high-quality culinary service, contributing to residents' well-being within budget.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Preparing modified diets that are appealing, well-balanced, and in accordance with IDDSI guidance.
  • Supervising and directing culinary staff, providing instruction and demonstrations on food preparation activities.
  • Understanding the principles of safe food handling to ensure hygiene standards are met.
  • Supporting culinary team members in understanding the Avery Food Safety Management System.

Our ideal candidate will:

  • Hold a relevant catering qualification such as City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2, NVQ, or equivalent.
  • Have at least 1 year of catering experience.
  • Demonstrate compassion and a commitment to high-quality culinary services for residents.
  • Be adaptable and flexible to cover various responsibilities at short notice.
