A leading boutique hotel in Devon is seeking a Sous Chef to manage kitchen operations and support the Head Chef. Candidates should have experience working in busy kitchens for at least 2 years, with a focus on maintaining composure and quality in high-pressure situations. The position offers opportunities for progression and includes several benefits like accommodation and meals on duty.
A Sous Chef position is available at an award winning boutique hotel which is a busy dining venue with an open kitchen restaurant serving brasserie style dishes which are changed seasonally. The hotel also offers afternoon teas and hosts private events, weddings, conferences and private dining for up to 12 covers. As a result this Sous Chef role will require you to adapt to a number of different cooking styles whilst supporting the Head Chef with the day to day management of the kitchen and the supervision of the five other chefs in the kitchen.
Requirements:
CVs will be considered from strong Junior Sous Chefs or Sous Chef but is important that they highlight experience working in busy kitchens serving multiple dining operations for a minimum of 2 years and ideally with fine dining experience. A chef who can remain calm under pressure whilst working within a small team in a fresh food focused kitchen would be ideal.
