A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A SOUS CHEF AT THE PRINCIPAL YORK

What you'll be doing...

Reporting to the Executive Head Chef, we are seeking a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join our Kitchen Brigade. You will support the Head Chef in all aspects of kitchen management, including rota planning, stock control, and staff delegation.

As Sous Chef, you will have good knowledge of food and a genuine interest in creating and costing new and exciting dishes to impress our guests. You will inspire creativity and encourage the team to use their individuality while maintaining a fun, positive, and creative atmosphere.

You will have the opportunity to challenge the status quo and bring fresh ideas to the team.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

  • The ability to adhere to company policies on fire safety, hygiene, health & safety, and licensing regulations.
  • The ability to manage various kitchen sections while ensuring health and safety standards are met.
  • Flexibility to assist the Head Chef and team as needed.
  • A team player who thrives in a busy kitchen environment.
  • Passion for food and willingness to learn.
  • Previous experience in a similar role.
  • Understanding of quality control and kitchen standards.
