Bupa Richmond Village Letcombe in Wantage is seeking a Sous Chef to support the Head Chef in delivering exceptional culinary experiences across the village kitchens, restaurant and spa dining. This permanent, full-time role offers four 10-hour shifts from 07:00 to 20:00 with no split shifts and no late nights.

You will cook to high standards, cater to dietary needs, maintain hygiene, and help create a welcoming dining environment for residents and guests.

Competenze

• Passionate about food and able to work in a professional kitchen.
• NVQ or City & Guilds and CIEH Level 2 Food Safety Award or equivalent.

• Respond to residents' dietary needs and requests for the menu.

Contract: Full Time 40hrs

Should you be successfully hired into this role, we are pleased to be able to offer you a one-off Starter Bonus of £1000 as a thank you for deciding to join Bupa Care Services. As Sous Chef, you will play a key role in supporting Head Chef in delivering exceptional culinary experiences. This is a fantastic chance for someone ready to take the next step in their career, bringing creativity, leadership, and a passion for food to a fast-paced and rewarding environment.

You'll help us make health happen by

Catering to residents across the Village which comprises of the care home, catering for serviced suites, villagers who have booked a meal in the Restaurant/Spa or for meals to be taken across to their apartments or for other specific events

Prepare and cook food in accordance with food hygiene regulations

Be aware of residents, villagers and Wellness Spa clients' dietary needs - responding to their comments and requests in respect of the menu

Be involved in the preparation and serving of the meals on the hotplate, as required

Ensuring that all food is used within the prescribed period, with particular attention paid to perishable (high risk) goods

Ensuring a welcoming, safe and compliant environment for our residents to dine in

Helping to maintain a clean and hygienic working area.

Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role:

Passionate about food, you'll have experience working in a professional kitchen, ideally catering for customers with special dietary requirements. An understanding of health and safety procedures, ideally with an NVQ or equivalent City & Guilds and CIEH Level 2 Food Safety Award or Equivalent. Open to new ideas, you'll have an innovative yet organised approach to cooking, always adhering to high standards and remaining calm during a busy service. You'll enjoy working with others, working together to create and deliver an excellent dining experience at each meal.
